  • How old do I have to be to participate?
    You must be at least 18 years old and have a driving license to participate as a driver. You must be at least 16 years old to participate as a co-driver.
  • What are the different categories of the 2024 edition?
    Crossover CUV** without low-range gearbox and AT tires All-Female category only ** like as Nissan Qashqai, Toyota RAV4, VW Tiguan, Dacia Duster, etc... 4WD SUV* with low-range gearbox and MT tires All-Female category, Mixed Category, All-Male category. *like as Nissan Patrol, Nissan Xterra, Toyota 4RUNNER, Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota FJ Cruiser, Mitsubishi Pajero, LEXUS GX470, JEEP Wrangler, LR Defender, LR Discovery, Suzuki Vitara, etc...
  • What is the registration fee for the 2024 edition?
    The registration fee for a Crew made up of 2 people is: €3 000 for Crossover category (like as Nissan Qashqai, Toyota RAV4, VW Tiguan, Dacia Duster, etc...) N.B.: No rescue team for Crossover category as vehicles drive on dirt roads in only safe areas. €4 000 for 4x4 category (like as Nissan Patrol, Toyota Land Cruiser, Mitsubishi Pajero, Jeep Wrangler, etc...) The route of the two categories is not the same, for the Crossover category the vehicles remain on dirt roads, almost no off-road.
  • What do the registration fees include?
    • Driver, Co-driver and Vehicle registration, • Motor sports event civil liability insurance Organizer, • General organisation of the event: sports management, sports documents, ranking service, research assistance, • Rescue team ready to intervene any time during the Rally (only for 4x4 category), • Mechanical assistance for the duration of the Rally, • Medical assistance for the duration of the Rally, • Loan of a SinoTrack GPS tracker for your vehicle, • Two bomber jackets created especially for the event, • Accommodation from the start day of the Rally to the last day of the Rally inclusive, i.e. 3 nights in quality hotels and 3 nights at bivouacs, • Half board for the duration of the rally (breakfast and dinner), • Award ceremony followed by a festive evening.
  • How can I pre-register to reserve my place for the next rally?
    You can pre-register by downloading the pre-registration form. Once the form is completed, return it by email along with payment of the deposit worth 210 EUR (or 600 GEL for Georgians) per crew (by credit card or bank transfer). This pre-registration can be carried over to another year or refunded in the event of cancellation by organisation.
  • Can I come to Georgia by road to participate in the Rally with my vehicle?
    Yes. If you have your vehicle which is compatible for the Rally and if you are on the continent of Europe or Asia, it is strongly recommended to come and participate with your vehicle. The Rally organization can advise you on the most suitable route for you. Coming from Europe, you can cross the Black Sea by ferry from Varna (Bulgaria) to Batumi (Georgia). Coming from Asia, you can cross the Caspian Sea by ferry from Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan) to Baku (Azerbaijan).
  • I don't have a 4x4 or Crossover vehicle, can I participate?
    The majority of foreign participants who take part in the Rally Adventure Georgia rent vehicles on site. In the Participation Manual 2024 you will find a list of 4x4 and Crossover vehicle rental companies. On this list, you will find Georgian rental companies who offer suitable vehicles for the Rally. You are also free to search other rental companies or look at the rental vehicles available on different websites, such as https://www.myauto.ge/en Contact directly the vehicle rental company to choose the vehicle model and its equipment. All rental companies speak English. Consider using Google Translate, if necessary. Prices vary depending on the vehicle model, year of manufacture and equipment. The rental company you choose will inform you of the rental price, the deposit amount and the payment terms. You will pay directly to the rental company either by bank transfer in advance, or on site upon your arrival in Tbilisi. Be careful to reserve your vehicle from the day before the day of technical inspections and until the day you return to Tbilisi after the end of the rally, which makes minimum 9 days of rental. You need to count between 800 and 1000 Euros for 9 days of rental for a 4x4 vehicle with low gear and MT tires (for 4WD category) and between 500 and 800 Euros for a Crossover SUV (for Crossover category).
  • I would like to participate but I don’t have a teammate. How can I do?
    Many potential candidates are in your situation. So don’t hesitate to use the social networks Facebook, Instagram, Twitter to launch your appeal! You can also contact the Rally organization which has contacts to share with you.
  • Do I need an International Driving Permit (IDP)?
    While an International Driving Permit (IDP) is not mandatory in Georgia, it is highly recommended to obtain one before your trip. An IDP serves as an official translation of your driver’s license and is widely recognized worldwide. It provides an additional layer of convenience and ensures that you meet the requirements of the local authorities.
  • Do I need to arrange special insurance for the event?
    Yes, you must have your travel insurance which covers hospitalisation costs abroad and repatriation (Ask your insurance company or your bank. In most cases, your travel and repatriation insurance are included with your Visa Premier or Mastercard Gold. You can benefit from the guarantees offered by your Visa or Mastercard if you have paid your travel expenses for Georgia by your card.)
  • Should I carry cash with me?
    You will need either Cash or your Bank Card. You will need it to buy water, your lunches, your little extras and to pay for your fuel. Visa and Mastercard bank cards are accepted everywhere in Georgia. You can also leave with Euros or Dollars and change them into Georgian Lari (GEL) on site.
  • How many days do you need to take part in the Rally Adventure Georgia?
    The Rally lasts one week, but allow 12 days door to door for the Canadian/American crews renting vehicle on place, 10 days door to door for the European/Asian crews arriving by plane or from 17 to 20 days if you go to Georgia by road from Europe or Asia.
  • How to prepare myself for the Rally?
    Preparing yourself for Rally is crucial to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Train physically: Rally Adventure is a physically demanding event. It's recommended that you train and build your stamina before the race. Practice, practice, practice: Get behind the wheel and practice driving in different conditions, including rough terrain, steep slopes, and off-road tracks. This will help you build your confidence. Familiarize yourself with the Rally sporting regulations and landscape of Georgia : Study any potential obstacles or hazards you might encounter during the race. This will help you plan out how to navigate the course efficiently. Gear up: Make sure you have all the necessary gear for the rally, including a helmet, protective clothing, and other safety equipment. It's also important to have a reliable vehicle and spare parts in case of any mechanical issues. By following these steps, you'll be better prepared to tackle the challenges of Rally Adventure Georgia and enjoy the thrill of the race.
  • Do I need to get vaccinated to leave for Georgia?
    No vaccine is required to travel to Georgia but it is advisable to be up to date with DTP and MMR vaccines.
  • Is there medical assistance during the Rally?
    Yes, a qualified doctor will be present at the Rally.
  • When will I know the Rally route?
    The Rally route is kept secret. You will discover it step by step during the Rally. Every evening you will receive the Check Point's list of the next day. Every year, we prepare a tailor-made route for you that is different from previous editions to allow you to discover different wonders of the Caucasus.
  • Is this a speed race?
    No, the Rally Adventure Georgia is an authentic rally raid, an orienteering race with no notion of speed. Your goal is to reach a series of predefined Check Points, with a GPS system or application of your choice, while driving the shortest distance.
  • What about the type of terrain covered during the Rally?
    The Rally Adventure Georgia 4x4 vehicle category route covers a wide variety of terrains, including dirt roads, forest tracks, rocky mountain trails, open fields, semi-desert steppes and river crossings. Participants can expect to encounter a range of challenges, from steep inclines and rocky terrain to narrow passages and deep mud pits. The course is designed to test the limits of both driver and vehicle, and requires a high level of skill, endurance, and adaptability. If you are a novice adventurer and don't have experience with off-road driving with technical crossings, at Rally Adventure Georgia we have a Crossover CUV category which is made for those who want to live the Rally experience and discover this magnificent country while remaining on dirt roads without difficult crossings.
  • How many kilometers should we cover on each day?
    The average distance traveled daily during the Rally is around 230 km.
  • Will I be able to communicate with those around me during the Rally?
    As soon as you pre-register we encourage you to create a Facebook and/or Instagram page to share your adventure and its preparation. For Georgia, we recommend that you subscribe to a “world” option with your mobile operator or you can also get a Georgian SIM card with data when you arrive in Tbilisi. You can buy a local SIM card at the Tbilisi international airport TBS (It’s faster and easier to buy it at the Airport than in the city.) The MagtiCom store at the airport is open 24 hours a day, like most other stores. Request recharge with unlimited internet for the duration of your stay in Georgia (LTE means 5G+). There is LTE (5G+) coverage on 95% of the Rally route and at all bivouacs. Your loved ones and sponsors will also be able to follow the Rally (articles, photos, news, etc.) through the Rally Adventure Georgia social networks.
  • What is the Rally’s solidarity action?
    During the rally week, two hours are devoted to solidarity action. Participating crews distribute humanitarian aid to families in some remote villages of Georgia. The donations consist of medical care products, hygiene products, clothes, children's shoes, essential accessories, school bags, toys, children's books, etc. In order to support this solidarity action, you are invited to bring with you donations that you can transport to Georgia. If you cannot transport donations, it is possible to contribute financially so that we can pay the funds collected to Emmaus Georgia who will provide us with warm clothing for the donations.
